Diversity, Engagement & Development
Our Team
Chawton Hill is only as strong as our employees. That is why we are committed to helping them develop their careers whilst they are with us. We work hard to recruit the best talent. Diversity, inclusion, and social mobility are areas in which we are especially proud of.
We support schemes for development and progression into the industry such as apprenticeships. Many team members have either come to us through apprenticeships or are currently engaged in them.
After a difficult 18 months due to COVID-19, one team member was made redundant from his previous apprenticeship. We provided an apprenticeship so he could continue his development and learn more, before moving on to further his career.

Career Development
Career Development
Ensuring our team are given the chance to develop themselves and their careers is at the heart of our business. We offer our team members good chances to progress. This includes help with professional memberships, like the RICS APC.
We believe the construction industry needs a more diverse workforce. The Chawton Hill team is diverse. It includes (and has included) people of different races, genders, and backgrounds. A key priority is to empower the team to feel fulfilled in their careers, whatever that may look like. We have a strict zero-tolerance policy against harassment and discrimination.
Recruitment
Where possible we recruit a mix of both qualified and trainee staff from a variety of backgrounds. This helps ensure a diverse workforce, providing varied experience, skills, knowledge and ideas. In turn, this allows us to meet the high standard expected from an RICS regulated firm. We look to encourage the development of transferrable skills to bring people into an industry suffering from a skills gap.
Wellbeing
Our team’s well-being is of the utmost importance to us. Without a positive working environment and job satisfaction, Chawton Hill would not function the way it does. We promote well-being with away days, team-building activities, career progression, and flexibility. This has, of course, increased as a result of the opportunities and changes brought about in recent years. We regularly arrange days away from the office for the team and support them in their lives beyond work.
