Communities and Young People
Committed to Communities & Places
People and communities are key to our projects and places. Chawton Hill is committed to fostering community and school engagement through collaboration and outreach.
Since founding in 2001, the company has grown in size and reputation, maintaining a strong focus on supporting the local community. Chawton Hill values collaboration and outreach. The team regularly and actively seeks ways to help local projects. Our business relies on communities and people, and we’re acutely aware of the potential impact our work has on them. As such we work hard to ensure that impact is positive.
Projects
Chawton Hill has worked on projects ranging from healthcare centres to schools and church renovations. Our work often involves revitalizing underused or outdated facilities, transforming them into modern, functional spaces that benefit the local community.
Notable recent examples include St Joseph’s School and the Oxshott Community Hub. In both projects, we turned dilapidated buildings and areas into valuable resources for local residents.
Young People
In addition to our regular work, Chawton Hill is dedicated to inspiring and mentoring the next generation. The company regularly engages with schools and colleges. We attend career fairs, offer talks, and provide work experience opportunities. The goal is to encourage young people, especially those from diverse backgrounds, to consider careers in construction. Chawton Hill’s collaboration with Kingston University is one such example. In this scheme, team members mentored students and guided them through their preparation for the working world.
Chawton Hill also maintains close ties with Thamesmead and Halliford School. We support their careers fairs and help students explore potential career paths. Through these initiatives, the company ensures that its community-focused values are passed on to future generations. At the same time, we can contribute to the local economy and social development.
Collaboration at Our Heart
In all our efforts, Chawton Hill emphasise the importance of collaboration across stakeholders. We strive to build lasting relationships with local communities and help young people build their future.
