New faces at Chawton Hill – The pace of our recent growth has meant we are a little behind in formally welcoming the latest New Faces at Chawton Hill.
It’s been a hectic few months with ongoing project work, pitches for new multi-million pound building schemes and the ongoing expansion of The Chawton Hill Way regional building surveyor programme.
The later is really starting to gain momentum since it’s launch at the beginning of the year. Our initial target of five additional regional surveyors by the end of this financial year is looking very achievable with six months of the year to run. We are seeing regular fresh interest from building surveyors who are attracted by our flexible, minimal administration approach to residential building surveys.
So who are the new faces at Chawton Hill?
Paul Summers joined our regional building surveyor programme at it’s inception to offer building surveys in North and West London and the Northern Home Counties region.
Paul is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building, the Chartered Association of Building Engineers and is an Associate Member of RICS.
He brings over 30 years of surveying and loss adjuster experience to Chawton Hill, specialising in recent years with subsidence, fire and flood restoration projects as well as building surveys, party wall matters and schedules of condition.
Next is Cathal McGuigan who joined our HQ team in Leatherhead, Surrey in the Spring.
Cathal has a BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying and a Diploma in Industrial Studies.
He has a wealth of experience of working in a multi-disciplinary company where he designed, specified and ran projects on site as well as undertaking a range of surveys and services for mostly public sector clients.
Most recently, our HQ team in Surrey has been joined by Mark Knight, at least for 3 days per week! The other couple of days Mark will be delivering Chawton Hill Building Surveys in the Gloucester region, covering areas such as Cheltenham, Bristol, Oxford and Swindon.
Mark is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Building Surveying Division and holds a Diploma in Surveying from the College of Estate Management at Reading University. He is also an ECO accredited Surveyor having completed the Energy Companies Obligation training with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Mark has experience in both residential and commercial property surveys, valuation works and completion of the RICS Building Survey report. He has also undertaken works in the Building Insulation field, property management, investigation works, Schedules of Condition and Dilapidations.
However it’s not all new faces, later this month Alex Falconer, Associate Director Projects will be leaving after 6 years at Chawton Hill.
Alex joined us in 2011, initially helping to deliver CAD drawings for residential and commercial building projects. He quickly worked up to Associate Director of Projects and has managed some of our largest multi-million pound projects including the innovative South East Coast Ambulance Make Ready Concept, the new car parking facilities at NESCOT and the new Oakhall 400 congregation church & community centre.
MD Dave Edwards said ‘Alex has been central to our project success in recent years and we will all be sad to see him leave. We wish him all the very best in his new role and hope he enjoys the greatly reduced commute to work!’
