The education sector has been central to our success since Chawton Hill launched. As a result we have an impressive track record of successful Condition Improvement Fund applications secured for our Education clients.
Our high success rate of all applications submitted can be attributed to our in depth knowledge of the Department for Schools and Education’s judging criteria.
We have unrivalled experience of how to put together successful applications. Our Condition Improvement Fund consultants make sure bids closely align to the CIF policy criteria/ priorities for that year’s round. In addition they understand how difficult and time-consuming this can be for individual academies, Bursars and Business Managers. At Chawton Hill we take responsibility for assisting in the preparation of the CIF application, leaving academies to concentrate on delivering exceptional education.
Chawton Hill will consult with you to assess your site and review your existing supporting evidence. For instance our experience shows that having clear, compelling evidence greatly strengthens your chances of success and our checklist includes;
- condition surveys
- asbestos reports
- cost breakdown records
- energy bills
- user statements
- records of interruptions to teaching and learning
- options appraisal
- contractor’s prices
- delivery programmes
We will advise you on the statistically best projects to bid for. After that we will then guide you on the optimum strategy for submission based on the latest CIF guidelines. For example in the last round, the importance given to confirmed cost estimates was increased. We’ve also found that bids that include at least a 10% school contribution were more successful.
In most cases we cover the cost of gathering details for your bid and writing the submission. This reduces your risk and allows access to technical knowledge and expertise to give you the best possible chance of being successful.
Please contact us today for a FREE initial consultation and make sure you have the best possible chance of securing a share of this vital funding.
Based on our experience of previous years the CIF round is likely to follow a timetable where registration starts in November with all bids having to be submitted on the ESFA CIF bid portal in December.
In conclusion to prepare highest quality bids, we recommend academies start the CIF process in the Summer with a Condition Survey. However our extensive experience has allowed us to start on successful bids as late as October.
