The construction site opening ceremony for the South East Coast Ambulance Make Ready Centre in Polegate, East Sussex was a great success!
Paul Sutton, Chief Executive SECAmb attended with the Major of Polegate, David Watts together with colleagues from SECAmb Steve Moss, John Flower & June Streeter & the team from Durtnell & Sons. Chawton Hill took responsibility as Principle Designers & Project Mangers.
The Make Ready Centre, first centralised centre in Sussex will not only be a place where ambulances are made ready for crews before every shift, but also provide training and meeting facilities for SECAmb staff working in the area.
Ambulance crews have in the past been responsible for cleaning and restocking ambulances before and after shifts. The Make Ready system allows specialist teams of staff to clean, restock and maintain vehicles.
Dave Edwards, Director at Chawton Hill said “this is our fourth Make Ready Centre in as many years and underlines our increasing specialism in these vital facilities that help free up front-line staff, who currently clean and re-stock ambulances, to spend more time treating patients“.
