ST TERESA’S SCHOOL, EFFINGHAM HILL, DORKING
New Preparatory School
St Teresa’s School operated from two sites and had a long term vision to combine the teaching facilities onto one location at the Senior School site on Effingham Hill. The move would provide an enhancement of teaching opportunities for the pupils and staff by sharing the extensive facilities that are available at the Senior School location.
Architects were engaged to develop proposals for the new Preparatory School, and submit a detailed Planning Application. Chawton Hill Associates Ltd were the Project Managers, Cost Consultants and Employers Agents for the new Preparatory School. The engagement included negotiation with the Planning Authority, CDM Co-ordination, Contract Administration and Specialist Consultancy to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating for the development.
The project started on site in January 2008 and completed by the end of December 2008, ready for the School to move into for a new start in January 2009. R. Durtnell & Sons Ltd were the Design and Build Contractors and The Miller Bourne Partnership were the project Architects.
