Freedom Leisure is the UK’s third largest charitable leisure trust operating 75 centres across the South East, Wales and the West of England. Their community ethos is one of providing affordable, accessible leisure, sport and community facilities for everyone.

In 2013 Halisham received a £3m refit as part of  Freedom’s  multi million pound investment programme to maintain and further improve the facilities, equipment and services they provide to their local communities. The investment is a major commitment to provide higher quality buildings and more varied equipment, so they can encourage more people to live happier, healthier, more active lifestyles. The investment includes updating and introducing energy efficient equipment to help the centres achieve their targets for energy reduction and further improve the trust’s overall environmental impact.

Our approach to Forward Maintenance Registers allows operators and building owners, Wealden District Council in the case of these four leisure centres, to prioritise maintenance so that any budget, small or large can be managed the best way possible.

Following investigations on site, a register is compiled that lists all building service items relevant to each building. Based on detailed site surveys, each service is listed, described, scored, prioritised and full details of what may need to be done and when are given in order for annual maintenance budgets to be managed suitably.

If you are looking to maximise your annual maintenance budgets then a Chawton Hill FMR is a critical tool in delivering the most efficient use of any given budget.
